The Team Behind Select Drive
Select Drive is a family-run driving school founded by Gurpreet Bhogal. Gurpreet is a DVSA-approved driving instructor with over 20 years of experience teaching learners across Birmingham and the West Midlands. He has helped hundreds of students pass their practical test, from complete beginners to experienced drivers returning to the road after a long break.
Gurpreet is known for his patient, calm teaching style. He structures every lesson around where you are right now, not where you should be. Whether you are building clutch control for the first time or practising manoeuvres before your test, the lesson is always set at your pace.
Gurpreet is joined by his father, Amarjit, who is also a DVSA-registered driving instructor. Between them, the two instructors cover a wide area across Birmingham and the West Midlands, so availability is rarely a problem. Both follow the same structured approach to tuition and teach in the same premium fleet.

Manual lessons are £35 per hour, automatic lessons are £37 per hour. No hidden fees, no upfront block booking required. You pay per lesson and can stop or change frequency any time.
Door-to-Door Pickup
Your instructor picks you up from your front door and drops you off again at the end of every lesson. No need to arrange a lift to a meeting point. We cover the whole of Birmingham and the West Midlands.
Structured, Patient Tuition
Every lesson builds on the one before. Our instructors follow a structured progression that moves at your pace, from basic controls through to independent driving and test preparation. No rushing, no pressure.
Test Centre Knowledge
Our instructors know the test routes at Dudley, Kings Heath, Kingstanding, and Wednesbury inside out. Lessons include practice on the specific roads, roundabouts, and junctions that come up most often on test day.
